If you want to pay some of your creditors, you can do that. There is no penalty for voluntarily paying your creditors after you've gone through the bankruptcy and have no legal obligation to pay. Some clients do that. They file a chapter seven, they get their discharge, and they feel a moral obligation to make a payment to their creditors. Another way to do it is through a chapter 13, where you pay what you can afford to pay to your unsecured creditors. There are options if you want to pay.
